Anime is the Japanese version of western animation or more well known as cartoons.
In today's modern society, anime looks far more superior to western animation. Both in its design and complexity.
While cartoons roam around safer routes, anime goes wild on the highway.
Yes cartoons do have its wild side too, But majority of cartoons still focused on the youth. While anime focus on diverse age group.
Unlike western animation, anime can be as explicit as it wants in its works. Being able to have gore, perverted and/or horrific contents. Something that most won't consider letting kids see.
Yes western animation do have some explicit contents too in some of it works. But if you look at it, western animation don't have a lot of titles to show its explicitness. Maybe adult swim have some titles to share. But compare to anime explicit titles, there are hundreds of titles to show. Both old and new. And those titles are real red line titles and not for all ages.
(hahaha.. Something that most who haven't seen anime may consider, and may reconsider the thought that anime is just for kids)
Anime is a big world and with it.
A birth of a new pop culture. A culture where it didn't just stay as an image to be seen. But for you to become a part of it as well.
